Like Saint Teresa she received the Transverberation of the Heart. She was devoted to praying for the Poor Souls in Purgatory and composed a special prayer for them.
Saint Mathilda was the first Queen of Germany and married to the First Emperor of Germany, known as Henry the Fowler.
She lived in Quedlingburg Castle and was extremely generous with the finances and wealth of the Empire. We trace her life in the Castle and the struggles she overcame after the death of her beloved husband Henry.
