cathedral, 7 churches (10th to 13th century), 2 round towers, 3 high crosses, two holy wells and the largest collection of Early Christian graveslabs in Western Europe.

Day 3 Wednesday July 24, 2019 CROAGH PATRICK - KYLEMORE - WESTPOT (BD)
After a full Irish breakfast , we begin our day with a visit to Croagh Patrick, the Mountain of St. Patrick, also called Ireland's holy mountain. It was on the summit of the mountain that St. Patrick fasted for 40 days in 441AD and the custom has been faithfully handed down from generation to generation.
We continue on to Kylemore Abbey which is set in the heart of the Connemara mountains.
The Abbey is run by the Benedictines Nuns. The Gothic Church and Victorian Walled Garden have been restored to their former glory. We celebrate Mass at the Nun's Church at Kylemore. Return to our hotel for dinner.
Day 4 Thursday July 25, 2019 KNOCK - BALLINTUBBER - WESPORT (BD)
Our day begins with a visit to Knock Shrine, where Our lady appeared to 15 people on August 21, 1879. Po
Pope John Paul II visited this Shrine in 1979 as did Mother Teresa of Calcutta in June of 1993. As part of our tour, we will see the Folk Museum, which houses a great deal of memorabilia from the time of the apparitions, as well as the history of the area. Our tour will include the Chapel of Reconciliation, where we will have an opportunity to have our confession heard. We will take part in the great Healing Mass at the Basilica. We continue on to Ballintubber Abbey, a magnificent tribute to the Irish people, also fittingly called "The Abbey that refused to die." It has a unique record of unbroken Catholic worship, in spite of pillage, fire, and sword. There are many beautiful sights to be seen here!
Back to our hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 5 Friday July 26, 2019 CLIFFS OF MOHER - BUNRATTY - CORK (BD)
We will travel through Burren, famous for its Lunar-like Limestone landscape and its unique flora. About 20 species of Orchids grow wild here. We continue to visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of the most beautiful sights in the world. It rises 700 feet above sea level. From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Island, Galway Bay, as well as the The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.
We go on to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. The first, castle was built by a Norman, Thomas de Clare in the 13th century. However, the story of the site goes back to prehistoric times and it was the Vikings who first established a settlement here in 950AD. In 1954 Lord Gort bought the castle and with the help of Bord Failte restored it to its present condition. He also installed the finest collection of medieval furniture in the country. The crafts and skills of the self-sufficient Shannon community have been revived in the same grounds, the Folk Park. We enjoy a Medieval Banquet at Bunratty Castle, living like the lords and ladies of 15th century Ireland. Overnight in Cork.
Day 6 Saturday July 27, 2019 GOUGANE BARRA - BLARNEY - CORK (BD)
Today we begin our day with a visit to Gougane Barra. The name Gougane Barra comes from St. Finnbarr, who is said to have built a monastery on an island in the lake nearby during the 6th century. The present ruins date from around 1700 when a priest called Denis O'Mahony retreated to the island. During the times of the Penal Laws, Gougane Barra's remoteness meant that it became a popular place for the celebration of
the Roman Catholic Mass. The nineteenth century oratory which stands near the original monastery is famous for its picturesque location. We continue on to Blarney Castle, built in 1446 as a defensive fortress.
Kiss the Blarney stone if your dare...Tradition holds that those who kiss the Blarney Stone will be endowed with the gift of eloquence - "the gift of the gab" as the locals call it.
Dinner and overnight in Cork.
Day 7 Sunday July 28, 2019 ROCK OF CASHEL - HOLYCROSS ABBEY - KILKENNY (BE)
Today we visit the Rock of Cashel, a spectacular castle/Cathedral from the time of St. Patrick. See the amazing group of Medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone, including a round tower, Romanesque chapel, cathedral and restored hall of the Vicar's Choral. Next we visit Holycross Abbey, a restored medieval Cistercian monastery on the banks of the River Suir in Co. Tipperary. A relic of the True Cross drew pilgrims from far and wide since its foundation by Donal Mor O Briain, King of Limerick, in 1182AD. Around 1400 AD the Butlers of Ormond were patrons and many renovations were carried out. As second relic, the Ormond Relic, was enshrined in the Abbey. Many of the unique architectural features date from the 15th century rebuild. We celebrate Mass at Holycross Abbey.
On to Kilkenny for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Monday July 29, 2019 WATERFORD - THOMASTOWN - KILKENNY (BD)
We begin our day at the House of Waterford Crystal. This brand new home for Waterford Crystal occupies a 1.5 acre site on the Mall in the heart of Waterford city. Next, we visit Jerpoint Abbey in Thomastown. An outstanding Cistercian abbey founded in the second half of the 12th century. The church with its Romanesque details dates from this period.
Our last stop for the day is the famed Kilkenny Castle, a 12th century castle remodeled in Victorian times and set in extensive parklands which was the principal seat of the Butler family, Marquesses and Dukes of Ormonde.
Dinner and rest in Kilkenny.
Day 9 Tuesday July 30, 2019 KILKENNY - KILDARE - DUBLIN (BD)
We begin our day in Kildare, at the Shine of St. Brigid, one of Ireland's most famous Saints.
It is a beautiful shrine, with a stone-lined prayer route, a stream where St. Brigid performed Miracles, and her stone and Pillar. There are said to be Healing Stones, each with the shape corresponding to a part of the human body. We continue on to Dublin where we meet with a Local Guide for a panoramic sightseeing tour, including O’Connell Street, Phoenix Park, Leinster House. We celebrate evening Mass at the Church of Adam and Eve.
Dinner and overnight in Dublin
Day 10 Wednesday July 31, 2019 DUBLIN (B)
We start our day celebrating Mass at the Church and shrine of Venerable Matt Talbot. Learn the life of this special man in the Church.
Visit the Library at Trinity College, one of the world’s great research libraries, holding the largest collection of manuscripts and printed books in Ireland.
At the Treasury, we see a display of Irish medieval gospel manuscripts, principally the Book of Kells which contains a Latin text of the four gospels copied and decorated by Irish monks around the year 800 AD.
We continue on to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral which stands on the oldest Christian site in Dublin. St. Patrick is said to have baptized converts to the Christian faith in a well which once existed north of the tower in the present park. Because of its sacred association with St. Patrick, a church had stood here since the 5th century. Rest of the day free to do some shopping or have a cup of coffee and Irish scone. Dinner on your own.
Overnight in Dublin
Day 11 Thursday August 01, 2019 DUBLIN - DROGHEDA - MONASTERBOICE - MELLIFONT ABBEY - DUBLIN (BD)

The Saint’s incorrupt head is venerated in this church. We also stop at one of Ireland's best known religious sites, Monasterboice, with the ruins of the churches and famous 10th century high Celtic crosses. Lastly, we visit Old Mellifont Abbey, the first Cistercian monastery in Ireland founded in 1142 by St. Malachy of Armagh.
